THE SPECIFICS OF THE DIALOGUE OF CULTURES AS THE BASIC PRINCIPLE OF MULTICULTURALISM IN EDUCATION

Abstract:
The article deals with the essence of the dialogue of cultures and its
functioning as a technology of multicultural education. A special multilingual
model of multicultural education is presented, in which the dialogue of cultures
is an essential basic principle. The specificity of the didactics of the dialogue of
cultures in the model is determined. It is formed around the structural, content,
organizational and functional groups of specifics, each of which is described by
the author. The openness and adaptability of the model to Russian educational
systems are substantiated. This makes the formulation of the topic relevant
for modern education, which declares the principles of multiculturalism and
intercultural communication (multilinguality) and which is in the process of
searching for their appropriate and effective forms. The logic of the presented
provisions, their objectivity and reality are confirmed by the experience of
developing the theory of the model and its practical implementation in the
Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. This may be a subject of interest for Russian
educational systems, for scientists and methodologists who research and develop
modern relevant technologies for the development of education. The relevance
of the problem under study in modern conditions is determined by scientific
and technological progress and the efforts of a reasonable and peaceful part of
humanity to open up new opportunities, types and forms of communication, the
main condition for the effectiveness of which is mutual understanding, dialogue
of cultures, tolerance. The currently developing process of internationalization
of education leads to the expansion of interrelations and interdependencies of
different peoples and their cultures. Today it is impossible to find an education
system that would not be affected by global trends. This influence is carried out
through cultural exchanges and direct contacts between state institutions, social
groups, social movements, scientific cooperation, trade, tourism, etc. Education is
thus one of the channels for the dialogue of cultures.
