INTERACTION OF LANGUAGES AS A FACTOR OF THE PHENOMENON OF MULTILINGUALITY

Abstract:

This article presents the phenomenon of multilingualism, manifested in the interaction of several languages within the context of a multilingual model of multicultural education. It describes the essence of this phenomenon, which consists of the idea of the purposeful interaction of languages selected for educational practice and is defined as one of the forms of implementing this educational idea. Multilingualism is presented as a special integrative sphere of sociocultural reality, which functions as a means of preserving and developing national and universal values, including through the development of a person’s ability to integrate interlingual layers and the meanings and significances contained therein. The foundations on which the model builds language interaction and selects methodological approaches for its implementation are presented. The phenomenon of multilingualism, functioning in conjunction with the phenomenon of multiculturalism, is described as possessing special capabilities for cognitive expansion, allowing the individual to have additional resources for navigating the surrounding world. It is declared that such a combination represents the language as a complex organized system, intellectual in essence, in which the relationship between the expressed content and the form of this expression is obvious. Aspects of the ideas of linguistic multiculturalism, built on an axiological basis and value concepts that form the worldview rank of students, are emphasized.
