Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of ethnocultural collections of indigenous
peoples stored in historical and local history museums of Southern Siberia.
This is a vast region, in remote areas of which individual ethnic communities
continue to live compactly, whose traditional way of life has not changed for
thousands of years. Despite their desire to follow tribal customs, the culture
of these peoples is on the verge of extinction due to objective reasons - the
processes of assimilation, globalization and the development of scientific and
technological progress observed throughout the world. Meanwhile, interregional
domestic tourism, which is actively developing in our country today, opens up
new directions for travel and excursions every season. Today, such educational
travel tours are organized with varying degrees of success in all regions of the
country. Professional researchers and ordinary lovers of ethnography are happy
to go to join the culture of the peoples of the Far North, Kamchatka and the Far
East, while the territories of Southern Siberia continue to keep their secrets.
The main goal of our research is to acquaint the reader with the unique culture of
the indigenous peoples of Southern Siberia, tell where to see the most interesting
ethnocultural museum collections, popularize and develop new tourist destinations
in the Republics of Altai, Tuva and Khakassia, the Kemerovo region and the Altai
Territory. In addition, the geography of this article was supplemented by data
obtained from museums of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tomsk and Irkutsk regions -
adjacent regions of Southern Siberia, whose museums also contain amazing
ethnographic artifacts related to the culture of indigenous peoples.
